Position Summary:
As a Diminished Value Settlement Agent, you will guide customers through the diminished value claim process, communicate with insurance companies, and work to maximize client recoveries. You will serve as a trusted advisor, combining customer service skills, negotiation abilities, and attention to detail to drive successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Review vehicle repair reports, accident details, and valuation assessments.
Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary claim documentation.
Draft and submit diminished value demand letters to insurance companies.
Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters on behalf of clients.
Keep clients informed throughout the settlement process.
Maintain detailed case notes and update CRM (customer management system).
Coordinate with internal appraisers or external valuation experts when needed.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Property & casualty (P&C) license preferred but not required.
- Experience in insurance claims, automotive industry, or customer service preferred.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Basic understanding of vehicle appraisals, repair processes, and insurance practices (preferred, but training provided).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not mandatory).
